Location is excellent, many attractions within walking distance. Great breakfast. Staff is friendly.
The beds are too soft.

Not a far walk from the Leidesplein which was really great. Decent sized room and clean throughout.
It had obviously been through some renovation with a few things requiring finishing so we had to change rooms (blind for the skylight was not fitted to mains). The replacement room we were given was at the front which meant that the room was VERY noisy (only single glazing) due to traffic/ trams etc, even though it was situated on third floor (no lift by the way).

Clean, comfortable, with very helpful reception staff, good tea and coffee facilities in each room, 32 tv channels, good bathrooms.
I couldn't open any window in my room! The hotel-title on the sign outside is written in very small letters. The hotel needs a big and easily visible sign,

We booked a room at the Hotel Iron Horse, but when we arrived our room's AC had gone out. The staff took the initiative and booked us in another hotel but allowed us the choice to stay in their hotel or the alternative location. Due to the heat and lack of opening windows we stayed at the alternative. The staff provided a taxi to the alternative location and made sure we were taken care of there by following up during our stay. I hope to stay in the Iron Horse on a future trip.

The rooms were clean, large and looked exactly as they did in the pictures on Booked.net. The bathroom was really nice too. The actual hotel was undergoing some minor construction work in a small area but this didn't have an affect on the quality of the hotel and certainly not the quality of the actual bedrooms which appear to have been recently refurbished. Room service was excellent and majority of the staff we encountered seem to be fairly friendly and happy to help. There was a Lidl nearby off the main road and also a small convenience store just up the road. The tram stops fairly near to the hotel and there are various shops, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area so over all it was a good location.
The rooms are all non smoking and there isn't a designated smoking area so we had to stand around the front of the hotel to smoke.

The Iron Horse was surprisingly good place to stay. Trams and restaurants were all within walking distance. The staff were very very helpful and the rooms were small and very clean. Breakfast was good value at Euro 7.50 pp per day with wide choice. We could not find breakfast cheaper.
No lift - but we could have changed to a downstairs room. The view from our window was a wall The croissants were not that fresh by the end of our stay.

enjoyed our 4 night stay, and would not hesitate to return to this hotel. Although I would request a large room, our companions had a very small room.

Kindness of the staff; good position (15 minutes bt walk to Dam Square); new building (2 weeks old); the chance to have public transport really close to the hotel.
We were 3 but the space would have been better for 2; pillows were really unconfortable (too high and not so tender). the lack of a little fridge in the room really usefull if you travel with a baby.

Very well situated, close to Vondelpark and city. Nice, clean rooms. Helpful staff. Breakfast good. Cafe and bicycle-rent next door.
They were refurnishing the hotel during our stay and had problems with the air-conditioning in parts of the hotel. Unfortunately the weather turned into a heat-wave while we were there. Our inconvenience was very well compensated.

great location, clean, modern
no free parking, no hot breakfast (only cold food - salami, cheese, vegetables) and not so diverse, no elevator, the rooms with the view at the main street are bit noisy

Rooms were brand new (some other aspects of hotel still under construction). Location was close to shopping district and neighbourhood amenities (like grocery store, cafes, banks etc), but far enough away from main tourist areas that it was quiet at night.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Vey c
Comfortable with helpful friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of food. And fresh fruit. A ground floor room was available on both our week ends as I have difficulty with stairs. The beds we very comfortable and the shower room very good. Though a towel rail would have been useful. We would recommend the iron horse to friends and family for a good location to trams, boat trips , museums and restaurants. Lovely food to take away at the Marqt which is 2 doors away.

Room was small, but clean and quiet so fine for business trip.
The windows did not open and air conditioning didn't work so a I had to get a fan and sleep with he door open - far from ideal. This was not fixed during my stay even after reporting it.
